Following up with your doctor is key
When is the next time you’re planning on seeing your doctor? If you were recently prescribed a new medication, your answer should be “soon.” According to the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality, one of the most important things you can do to protect your health is to have a follow-up appointment after starting a new prescription. The purpose of a follow-up visit is for the doctor to monitor your treatment progress and check that the new medication is not having any significant negative effects on your health. For a smooth follow-up appointment, AHRQ suggests patients disclose four key pieces of information:
• Any problems with taking the medication
• Any side effects noticed after starting the prescription
• Any new medications another doctor may have given the patient or any over-the-counter drugs the patient has started taking along with the original prescription
• How the patient is feeling since starting the medication (Has it helped your condition? Worsened it?)
By telling your doctor everything you can about the prescription’s effects, he or she can determine whether that particular drug is a good match for you and your individual health care needs. If not, another drug can be prescribed that will better fit your lifestyle. Then, be sure to use your True Care Advantage prescription plan to receive significant discounts on prescriptions such as these. Your health and your wallet will thank you!

"I just want to say thanks for having this service for those that cannot afford dental insurance. I have noticed the savings since the very first time I used it, and I've never even heard of Discount Dental Plans before. I was so pleased with the company I called in to see what other programs they offer and signed up for coverage on Medical and Chiropractic as well!"

"The free prescription drug card is such an added bonus. I'm on a maintenance drug that used to cost me $107.67 every three months. After receiving my free discount drug card it now costs just $43.42. This is an annual saving of $257, which is even more than the entire plan cost. What a great free bonus to go along with my dental plan."
